Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains the documented ways AusfWerks collects and manages personal information through a newsletter signup form and its contact address. It does not describe practices that have not been confirmed for the live website, its host, or third-party services.

Newsletter signup

When a signup form is presented, its invitation reads: “Join the AusfWerks list for future articles and reading suggestions.” The form asks for an email address and explicit agreement to: “I agree to receive email updates from AusfWerks.”

A signup stores the email address, a hash used to check for duplicate entries, the signup time, the source page path without its query string or fragment, the accepted consent wording, and the collection status. These details are stored in the site’s WordPress database.

Signup collection is enabled for possible future updates. Email delivery, confirmation, and unsubscribe functions require separate configuration. Submitting a form does not necessarily mean that an active mailing service is currently sending messages.

Temporary anti-spam records

The signup system creates temporary rate-limiting records to help control spam and repeated submissions. These records use hashed network identifiers and are periodically cleaned up. This does not mean that the website host or other services never record IP addresses.

Contact messages

If you email contact@ausfwerks.com, your message includes the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address, message text, and attachments. Please avoid sending information that is not needed for your request.

Record access and retention

Authorized administrators can view, export, and remove newsletter signup records. The relevant WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools also include these newsletter records. Newsletter records remain in the database until an administrator removes them or an erasure request is processed.

Your choices

To request access to or removal of a newsletter signup record, email contact@ausfwerks.com and identify the email address used to sign up. Providing that address helps locate the correct record.

AusfWerks articles may link to other websites. Those sites maintain their own privacy information and practices. Review their policies before submitting personal information or using their services.
