Forming the Pz I tiedown

J Matthes

I wanted to apply the ApoxieSculpt weld technique to the smallest part I could find. The Voyager PE set for the Pz IB has the tiedown handles that are about a third the size of a tool clamp.

To match my reference photo, I drilled out the holes and decided to reverse the base to face the bolts toward the surface. The weld allows for some more space between the face and the armor, so there is no need to file the bolts flush.

The base is embedded in a patch of ApoxieSculpt.

The excess is fashioned into the weld and the surrounding surface cleaned up with a brush dipped in water.

After a blast of paint and an Exacto blade for perspective. Yes, that's just the notch of the very tip...I said it was small, right?
