Urban Tiger Part 2

The signs were made with styrene and dry transfers to represent a flower shop. Also a tactical symbol was hand painted on the end wall. Much more rubble has been added in the way of broken roof tiles and bricks to help make up the volume of building that’s blown away.

A Custom Dioramics figure was added. A young girl was chosen to offset the harshness and grit of the scene. In this shot the blanket is miliput. That was removed and a new blanket of Apoxy Sculpt was made up for her to carry. She was pinned through the feet for a rock solid mount.

This was the second attempt at painting this girl. The first one wasn’t pretty at all but this one I’m happy with. The girls dress colors were deliberately made as red as possible to make her stand out.Besides the theatrical reasons for her being there, she acts as a stop sign to keep peoples eye from following the tank barrel off the edge of the dio.

Once again even more rubble and this time timber was added to the streets. Also everything was given a good dusting with pigments to help sell the loose effect. I swear you can turn this dio up side down and nothing at all will fall off.

Small details were added here and there such as the paper scattered about in the streets. These sheets were made from tissue soaked in the same alcohol / glue mix and then “written” on after it dried.

To add some more violence and suggest an after action scene I added an Ultra Cast helmet with blood pools to suggest a casualty just out of scene. Care in painting these small details really helps sell a scene. Notice the dark sweaty parts of the leather liner in the helmet.
